Chapter 3: Meetings…

In fiera a Brescia andai con Daniele “Danx”, pinstriper e decoratore conosciuto da anni nel mondo custom… Mi fece conoscere un sacco di gente, ma in particolare mi presentò la persona che avrebbe poi decorato Apophis, ma sopratutto colui che per me diventò come un fratello maggiore…

I attended the exhibition in Brescia together with Daniele “Danx”, a pinstriper and decorator well known since years in the custom field…he introduced lots of new people to me and amongst others, the one that would later decorate Apophis, but most of all the person that would soon become just like my eldest brother

Lorenzo Dox Dossena, decoratore e aerografatore di fama mondiale, venne nel mio stand a vedere la moto che presentavo, una Moto Guzzi v75, ma quando vide Apophis restò affascinato dalle sue forme. Mi disse che avrebbe voluto metterci le mani assolutamente con la sua tecnica brevettata P.n.P., tecnica che permette la decorazione del nudo metallo utilizzando solamente lavorazioni meccaniche.

Lorenzo Dox Dossena, a world-famous designer and airbrush. He came to visit my stand to see the bike I was displaying, a Moto Guzzi v75, and when he noticed Apophis he was fascinated by its shapes. He told me he would absolutely love getting his hands on it and use his newly patented technique so called  P.n.P. (Paint not Painting) which allows to decorate bare metals solely through mechanical works.

Io non avevo assolutamente idea di cosa sarebbe riuscito a fare sulla moto, ma presto ci incontrammo… Nacque un progetto e una collaborazione fantastica che dura ancora oggi.

At that time I did not have a clue what he would do to the bike, but soon we met and started a great project and partnership which is still ongoing.

Fu proprio lui a convincermi che la mia scultura su ruote doveva essere finita a tutti i costi, perchè mentre io partecipavo ad eventi internazionali come il raduno Guzzi con la V75, lui stava organizzando l’evento di tutti gli eventi!

It was him that convinced me I must finish my sculpture on wheels at all costs, knowing he was preparing the MBE Motor Bike Expo, the biggest event ever, far above the international ones I had been taking part to, like the motorcycle rally Guzzi.

E se avessi ascoltato chi mi diceva che non avrei mai dovuto portare una moto del genere non finita ad una fiera? Seguite l’istinto… sempre!

  What if I had listened to those saying I should never bring such unfinished bike to an exhibition? Follow your instinct…always!
